Since their launch in 1998, the non-profit Keepsake T-Shirt Blankets has fulfilled more than 10,000 orders while empowering the deaf community with a philosophy of “Doing Good Has Never Felt So Warm”.
The company, supported by donations and blanket sales, helps customers capture memories from their favorite t-shirts by transforming them into blankets. “Your favorite memories are captured forever in a soft, warm t-shirt blanket,” said a spokesperson.
Since the company’s launch, more than 115 deaf employees have helped them fulfill orders.
“True to our mission, nearly every one of our employees are deaf/hard of hearing and count on our organization to create a work environment where they can succeed,” said the team at Keepsake T-Shirt Blankets.
The company’s team transforms special t-shirts into a variety of keepsake items, including pillows and blankets of varying sizes. The keepsake blankets are a great way to memorialize t-shirts from events, concerts, school sports, and more.
Not only does Keepsake T-Shirt Blankets work to empower the deaf community, but they also give back to their local community in Columbus, Ohio, with The Be Warm Project. Through this initiative, the team creates blankets, scarves, mittens, and hats for the homeless using extra fabric.
“Since starting the project 4 years ago, we’ve made and donated over 1,500 items,” said the team at Keepsake T-Shirt Blankets.
