Metin Durmaz, the CEO of a world-renowned manufacturer of luxury and custom furniture SAGIST GROUP has opened a new branch & showroom in Vienna under the name SAGIST VIENNA. Mr. Metin has shown continuous support for all forms of art in the country, where he opened numerous aspiring brands and companies.
Mr. Metin Durmaz stated that SAGIST Group is entering sponsorship negotiations for the upcoming “Vienna Art Week”, imparting that he will provide all the support needed for this event to be held as scheduled between the 18th and 25th of November 2022.

Mr. Metin Durmaz is a world-class Turkish-based businessman and architect and CEO of SAGIST Group. He graduated from Sichuan University, specializing in Architecture and Physics with exemplary scores.
His business journey begins at Hongkong Investment Company, where he worked as an assistant general manager. In 2003, Mr. Durmaz met Zaha Hadid and returned to Istanbul, where he became the head of the SAGIST Group.
Currently, Mr. Metin Durmaz owns businesses across the globe, including Istanbul, California, London, Sofia, Dubai, Moscow, Vienna, Abuja, and more. Additionally, he manages a multi-portfolio of numerous high-profile investors.
In 2018, Mr. Durmaz received “The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences” award; in consecutive years, he was awarded the “Best Contract Furniture Factory Five Star Diamond” award in 2019; the “International Arch of Europe” award in 2020; the “Europe Best Contract Furniture Manufacturer” award in 2021, and both “Europe Best Custom Made Factory” and “Businessman of the Year” awards in 2022.
The “Vienna Art Week” first took place in 2005, illuminating and showcasing Vienna’s flamboyant and vivid art scene annually every November. Hand in hand with approximately 70 program partners, “Vienna Art Week” offers a “week of inspiring art from the Baroque to the present with free admission and has become one of the most important art events in the Danube region, attracting more than 35,000 visitors each year,” said Metin.
This festival comprises approximately 140 separate events, including but not limited to guided tours, studio visits, expert talks, performances, workshops, exhibition openings, lectures, and symposia, as well as interventions in public spaces.
Vienna Art Week is a joint platform of the Viennese art community and is a product of collaboration between numerous Viennese art institutions, universities, galleries, independent art spaces, and artists.
